Degrees for New Jersey's Veterans

If you are a post 9-11 veteran of the armed forces, we can help you earn a college degree. Higher Education for NJ Veterans is the gateway to the 14 independent colleges and universities in New Jersey and the programs and services these institutions offer to serve the state’s veterans.

Enrolling at a private college or university in New Jersey is more affordable than you might think. The member institutions of the Independent College Fund of New Jersey (ICFNJ) enrolled more than 500 veterans or veteran dependents as of Spring 2010. The majority participate in the Yellow Ribbon Program. This means an additional financial commitment to veterans to help offset some or all of the costs of private education not covered by Post 9/11 GI Bill. You will also find that many of New Jersey’s private colleges and universities offer tuition assistance and additional services to support veterans and their family members in achieving the dream of higher education.
