• Fairleigh Dickinson University is a full participant in the Yellow Ribbon Program. This means that with a matching contribution from the VA, qualified veterans can attend FDU with little or no out-of-pocket cost.

Special Offer for National Guard Members

For members of the National Guard, we FDU offers a Bachelor of Arts in Individualized Studies (BAIS), an Associate of Arts (AA), a Master of Science in Homeland Security (MSHS), a Master of Sports Administration (MSA) and a Master of Administrative Science (MAS), for just $250 per credit. These programs are offered both online and on site for the convenience of students. Tuition and fees for these programs would be covered completely by just 60 percent of the maximum GI Bill benefit or by the Army National Guard Federal Tuition Assistance (FTA) Program.

Other GI Bill Programs

Veterans and their dependents may also be eligible for another veterans education program, such as:

• Chapter 30: Prior active duty veterans (Montgomery GI Bill).
• Chapter 31: Service connected disabled veteran with a disability status of 20 percent or more.

Joseph Fullam, an airman who served in Iraq and Afghanistan, is a criminal justice major at FDU’s Metropolitan Campus. In addition to qualifying for a Yellow Ribbon scholarship, he was granted 13 credits for his military experience, and he hopes to finish his bachelor’s degree in less than four years. Fullam’s dream is to eventually earn a master’s degree in homeland security from FDU or become a Drug Enforcement Administration agent.

 

Ryan Enriquez, a Marine veteran who served in Iraq, has earned a bachelor’s degree and two master’s degrees (public administration and MBA) from Fairleigh Dickinson. Enriquez enlisted in the Marine Corps Reserve at age 17, just before the 9/11 attacks. While still in the reserves, he attended Bergen Community College, transferring to Fairleigh Dickinson in 2005. Currently working for a central New Jersey defense contractor, he hopes to be in a position some day to interview and hire veterans himself.

 

Jeff Dunn, a six-year Army veteran who served two tours in Iraq, has a bachelor’s degree and is studying toward an MBA at FDU’s College at Florham. Dunn earned an associate degree in business administration from County College of Morris in 2008 and transferred to FDU, where he qualified for a Yellow Ribbon scholarship. Dunn and fellow veteran Ryan Enriquez founded the FDU Veterans Associations at FDU’s New Jersey campuses. A graduate assistant working in FDU’s Office of Veterans Services, he hopes to start a small business someday.

 

Erica Behnke, a psychology major at the College at Florham, spent five years in the Marines, including a tour in Iraq. When she left the military and returned to New Jersey in 2008, she found a job in the human resources department of a Parsippany, N.J., organization. She hopes to enter the College at Florham’s five-year industrial/organizational psychology program, graduating with a master’s degree and eventually training or recruiting employees for companies or public institutions.
